To Register:

• Come by the Life Learning Community Center office on Tuesday or Thursday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The office is located in Building B on the Marietta Church of God campus. 1083 Allgood Road.
• For GED Registration, you will need a photo ID. If you are age 18 or younger, you will need withdrawal papers from your High School. Alll GED and ESL students are tested to determine their level of knowledge. This information is used for proper placement in a classroom or to test improvement thoughout your training.
• Although there is no cost for the classes, you will be given an opportunity to purchase books. This is optional, but encouraged. Cost is $20 per book. There is a total of 5 books, but all do not need to be purchased at the same time.

GED Facts:

• More than 95% of US employers consider GED graduates the same as traditional high school graduates in regard to hiring, salary and opportunity for advancement.
• The GED tests are designed to measure skills and concepts associated with four years of regular high school instruction.
• Most test questions require the understanding of broad concepts and generalizations, rather than the ability to recall facts, details and precise definitions.
• GED Test uses practical and realistic settings that adults will recognize, relevent to adults' lives.
• The tests are usually taken over a two day period.
• Each of the five tests uses a multiple-choice format.
• Each of the five tests correspond to the general framework of most high school curricula: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Interpreting Literature and the Arts, and Mathematics.

Course Descriptions:

• EL/Civics* - This class will teach immigrants and other limited English speaking individuals to acquire basic skills needed to function properly as a parent, a worker, a citizen.
• Spanish* - For those who wish to learn the basics of conversation in Spanish. No previous training needed.
• Basic Computer* - Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, navigating the Internet. You will be taught on a computer - Hands on.
